A starred question is one whose answer is desired to be given orally in the House with the idea to get an opportunity to follow up the Minister’s answer and elicit further information by way of Supplementary Questions. A member wishing to give notice of such a Question must distinguish it by an asterisk “*” or with the words “Starred Question”. If a Question is not thus distinguished it is treated as an treated as an Unstarred Question and is printed on the List of Questions for written answer.
